Alpine Group has taken a significant step in advancing supply chain decarbonization with the launch of its Supplier Decarbonization Program, beginning with the first workshop held in January in Wuxi, China.
Delivered in partnership with RESET Carbon, a consultancy specializing in emissions management within textile and apparel supply chains, the workshop brought together supplier representatives for a full day of sessions designed to support mills in understanding and beginning their decarbonization journey.
The program combined strategic alignment with practical implementation. A morning session for management teams focused on Alpine Group’s sustainability ambitions and the rapidly evolving expectations of global brands and regulators. In the afternoon, operational representatives participated in hands-on sessions exploring emissions accounting across Scope1, Scope 2 and Scope 3, alongside practical guidance on data measurement and identifying emissions reduction opportunities.
During the workshop, suppliers were introduced to Alpine Group’s Carbon Toolkit, which will serve as the framework for structured emissions data collection across the supply chain moving forward.
Feedback from participating mills highlighted the value of the strategic clarity provided during the workshop and the transparency around evolving industry requirements. At the same time, organizers noted that the content was technically complex, offering useful insight that will help refine future sessions and ensure the material remains practical and accessible for suppliers.
Following the workshop, Alpine Group is now working closely with participating mills to establish emissions baselines and develop realistic reduction pathways. Rather than applying a single target across the supply base, the program is designed to create mill-specific decarbonization plans that reflect each facility’s starting point, operational context and improvement potential.
RESET Carbon has also established a dedicated help desk to provide ongoing technical support to participating suppliers. A second supplier workshop is planned for April, with the aim of expanding the program to additional mills and accelerating emissions reduction across AlpineGroup’s supply chain.
