October 2025 - As part of our commitment to advancing a traceable and climate-positive supply chain, we recently hosted brand partners Sam’s Club, SanMar, and TravisMathew at Bowles Farming Company, Inc. in Los Banos, California, for a field visit focused on Climate Beneficial™ Cotton and regenerative agriculture.
The visit brought together partners from across the value chain, from farm to fashion, to see first hand how regenerative practices are transforming the future of cotton fiber. Through direct engagement with growers and sustainability experts, attendees gained a deeper understanding of how regeneration can deliver measurable environmental, social, and economic benefits.
Cotton remains one of the fashion industry’s most widely used materials but also one of the most resource-intensive. Regenerative farming turns this challenge into opportunity by rebuilding soil health, enhancing water retention, boosting biodiversity, and sequestering carbon, making it a cornerstone of the industry’s shift toward climate-positive materials.
The group was welcomed by Cannon Michael and his team at Bowles Farming Company, whose transparent and data-driven approach to regenerative agriculture showcased the impact of Climate Beneficial™ programmes in action. From live demonstrations of soil infiltration tests to discussions on the economics of regeneration and carbon sequestration, the visit provided a hands-on view of how science and stewardship intersect in modern cotton farming.
We are extremely grateful to Fibershed and the Bowles Farming Company teams for their partnership and for sharing their insights into regenerative agriculture and soil health innovation.
By facilitating knowledge exchange, we continue to drive progress toward a more traceable, resilient, and regenerative apparel ecosystem - showing that meaningful change happens through collaboration across the value chain.
